Rosenxt Group Acquires German Subsea Firm K.U.M.

Swiss technology company Rosenxt Group is expanding its subsea capabilities by acquiring K.U.M. Umwelt- und Meerestechnik Kiel, a German firm specializing in ocean bottom seismometers (OBS) and subsea monitoring technology. This follows Rosenxt’s July 2025 acquisition of select assets from UK subsea robotics firm Beam, highlighting a focus on consolidating high-value technical expertise in offshore energy and subsea markets. The combination of Rosenxt’s asset integrity expertise with K.U.M.’s proven monitoring systems aims to create a comprehensive offering for offshore energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and subsea infrastructure. Joint R&D will focus on intelligent subsea systems, autonomous deployments, and digital integrity solutions, accelerating next-generation technology development. Rosenxt emphasizes the long-term strategy, with Chairman Hermann Rosen noting K.U.M.’s subsea engineering experience as a strong addition. K.U.M. CEO Onno Bliss highlighted the benefits of international market access, faster scaling, and integration into Rosenxt’s technology ecosystem, while operations in Kiel will continue. The acquisition has been approved, and the integration process has begun, reinforcing Rosenxt’s position in the subsea and offshore energy sectors.
