German Giant Continental has announced plans to spin off Tyre Business 🛞

German automotive giant Continental has announced plans to spin off its materials division, ContiTech, following earlier intentions to separate its automotive supply division. The goal: to become a global company solely focused on tyres. CEO Nikolai Setzer stated that after decades of growth, the company’s three sectors — Tyres, Automotive, and ContiTech — are now ready to stand on their own. While a sale of ContiTech is considered the most likely path, the company will first focus on separating the automotive division. Despite a tough global automotive market, Continental managed to keep its net income stable at €1.2 billion in 2024, even as sales fell by 4.1% to €39.7 billion. 🔧 Once the restructuring is complete, only the traditional tyre business will remain under the Continental brand.
